One of our family’s favorite traditions came about nearly by accident. When our kids were starting school they were mass producing turkeys from hand tracings. I decided to save several by each child (note their initials on them) and cover them with clear adhesive paper.
We have a set of clear glass dishes so this was a great way to have “holiday dinnerware” without the expense or storage issues. Now my children are in their 30’s and we STILL take these out every Thanksgiving. This year my grand children are big enough to add their turkeys to the collection.
By the way, you can do similar things for the other holidays. Christmas cards can be displayed. Drawings for other holidays or even photos make for table tradition fun.
